This book entitled, Esanology is a term coined by the author to accommodate selected thoughts, cultural practices and the general worldviews of Esan people of the Central Senatorial District of Edo State Nigeria. It is a combination of two words, Esan and Ontology. In these compiled essays which addressed various thematic cultural cum philosophical issues, serves both as a means of preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Esan people and as a Tertiary text for the teaching and learning of Philosophy of culture which form the foundation for a detailed study in African Philosophy, in the Department of Philosophy, Religions, as well as other areas in the humanities in this age and time of the growing interest in the study and better appreciation of cultures across boundaries: African and Occidental world. It is recommended for both Esan at home and in the diaspora, as well as other sincere lovers of knowledge anywhere in the world with the understanding that after all, philosophy is universal and nobody will tell the Esan story much more than Esan themselves.
