Dieses nunmehr weit verbreitete Modell stellt das Erscheinen einer gänzlich neuen Industriestruktur dar, welches auf dem Konzept der "vertikalen Spezialisierung" beruht. Geprägt von den beiden Unternehmensstrategien "Outsourcing" (das Auslagern von unternehmensinternen Funktionen) und "Offshoring" (das geografische Verlagern von Unternehmensfunktionen) analysiert diese Arbeit die Entwicklung transnationaler Produktionsnetzwerke, unternehmensübergreifende Kooperationsformen sowie diverse Standortverlagerungs- und Markteintrittsstrategien im Allgemeinen sowie speziell in der Elektronikindustrie.
