Die Orestie des Dichters Aischylos ist eine der bedeutenden griechischen Tragödien. Sie entstand im Jahr 458 v. Chr. Das dreiteilige Stück behandelt das Ende des Fluchs, unter dem das Haus Atreus steht. Geschildert wird die Entwicklung des antiken Rechtsverständnisses vom Prinzip der individuellen Rache hin zu einer geordneten Rechtsprechung durch eine die Gesellschaft repräsentierende Gruppe (Richter, Geschworene). Die Orestie ist die einzige erhaltene antike griechische Trilogie. Der vierte Teil, ein Satyrspiel, gilt als verschollen. Bei der Erstaufführung zu den Dionysien 458 v. Chr. in Athen gewann Aischylos mit dem Stück den Siegespreis.
