Deshalb ist diese Arbeit der Mundart einer deutschsprachigen Minderheit im rumänischen Oberwischau (rum. Viseu de Sus) gewidmet. Die sog. Zipser leben dort seit mehreren hundert Jahren und pflegen bis heute ihre deutsche Varietät.Dieses Buch zeigt den bisherigen Forschungsstand des Zipser-Deutschen auf, umreißt die Geschichte der Zipser und geht auf linguistische Merkmale der Phonetik, Lexik, Semantik, Morphologie, Syntax, auf Phraseologismen und sonstige sprachliche Besonderheiten dieser Mundart genauer ein.
