Dabei findet sich diese Gattung über alle Kontinente hinweg und es gibt erstaunliche Parallelen zwischen einzelnen Märchen. So findet man zum Beispiel Figuren wie Rotkäppchen oder Cinderella nicht nur in Europa, sondern auch in Asien und Südamerika. Über all die Zeit ist es dem Märchen stets gelungen, sich den Anforderungen der jeweiligen Epoche anzupassen und dadurch als Gattung zu überleben. Gerade in den letzten zehn Jahren ist es zu einem erstaunlichen Revival des Märchens gekommen. Große Hollywoodfilme und Serien greifen den Märchenstoff auf und interpretieren diesen völlig neu. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit konnte gezeigt werden, dass eine Transformation von Märchen in Form von einer TV-Serie durch aus gelingen kann. Die didaktische Verwendung im Kontext Schule ist jedoch sehr zweifelhaft, da der zeitliche Aufwand kaum zu bewerkstelligen ist.
