Fachhochschule Köln (Institut für Translation und Mehrsprachige Kommunikation), Veranstaltung: Kulturraumstudien Spanisch, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der Katalonien-Konflikt ist seit Jahrzehnten eines der großen innerpolitischen Themen Spaniens. Spätestens seit dem Urteil des spanischen Verfassungsgerichts im Juli 2010, hat sich das Verhältnis zwischen der spanischen Zentralregierung und der katalanischen Regionalregierung zunehmend verschlechtert. Ein Höhepunkt in der jüngsten Entwicklung des Konflikts war das Referendum am 1. Oktober 2017. An diesen Tag kam es zu gewaltsamen Ausschreitungen zwischen der spanischen Polizei und den Separatisten in Barcelona. In der vorliegenden Arbeit soll untersucht werden, welche Ereignisse im Zeitraum vom 28.Juni 2010 bis zum 21.Dezember 2017 die Entwicklung des Verhältnisses zwischen der Zentralregierung und der Regionalregierung beeinflusst haben. Dabei stellt sich die Frage, ob es allein wirtschaftliche Gründe sind, die das finanzstarke Katalonien zur Loslösung von Spanien bewegen, oder ob auch geschichtliche, politische und kulturelle Gründe eine Rolle spielen. Der erste Teil der Arbeit konzentriert sich auf den Zeitraum von 2010 bis 2015. Hier wird als Erstes auf das Urteil des spanischen Verfassungsgerichtes eingegangen. Anschließend wird das Verhältnis von Zentralregierung und Regionalregierung rund um das Unabhängigkeitsreferendum im Jahr 2014 geschildert. Im zweiten Teil der Arbeit liegt der Schwerpunkt auf den Ereignissen, die mit dem Unabhängigkeitsreferendum vom 01. Oktober 2017 in Verbindung stehen. Hierbei spielen insbesondere die Ankündigung, Durchführung als auch die Folgen dieses Referendums eine entscheidende Rolle.
