Eingangs werden kurz die Entwicklung des chinesischen Marktes als Beschaffungsmarkt betrachtet und ein Überblick über Chancen und Risiken des Beschaffungskonzepts gegeben. Schließlich wird anhand des Beispiels von Bombardier Transportation erklärt, inwiefern das Hauptziel des China Sourcing, die Kosteneinsparung, erreicht wird.Im Jahr 2009 wurde die Volksrepublik China zum ersten Mal Exportweltmeister. 2018 wurde sie das vierte Mal in Folge die wichtigste Importnation für Deutschland. Global Sourcing ist eine der vielen Möglichkeiten, die sich im Zuge der Globalisierung eröffnet hat.
