Im Mittelpunkt der Veröffentlichung steht ein Briefwechsel zwischen dem österreichischen Kunsthändler und Verleger Walter Exner (1911-2003) und dem österreichischen Lehrer und Ordensbruder Berchmans Franz Brückner SVD (1891-1985), der von 1923 bis 1949 in China, zuletzt als Leiter der Abteilung Westliche Kunst an der Katholischen Furen-Universität in Peking tätig war. Ein zentrales Thema war die von Br. Berchmans angeregte neue Malschule für christliche Kunst, die biblische Themen aus chinesischer Kunsttradition darstellen sollte und die heute als Ars Sacra Pekinensis bekanntgeworden ist. Diese Thematik war auch für Exner, der in seinem Siebenberg-Verlag (1936 in Peking begründet) vorwiegend Kunstbücher, aber auch Postkarten publizierte, von Interesse. Unter den beigegebenen Farbtafeln sind 8 von Exner gedruckte Postkarten sowie eine 15teilige Serie von Bildern zum Rosenkranz. Weitere Zugaben sind biographische Skizzen des Ehepaars Walter und Lisl Exner sowie eine erste Zusammenstellung der Publikationen des Siebenberg-Verlags, eine Liste von Werken der Ars Sacra Pekinensis, die Br.
