Alexandru Zamfir s-a născut în anul 1988 în București și a știut dintotdeauna că va deveni, cândva, scriitor. Așteptând cu răbdare maturitatea intelectuală și încolțirea semințelor plantate în timpul vremurilor tulburi ale naivei tinereți, autorul a început să lucreze la debutul său editorial cu puțin timp înainte de împlinirea vârstei de 30 de ani. Rezultatul, „Apus", s-a conturat a fi o sinteză a ideilor filosofice și a viziunilor despre existență acumulate în deceniul anterior. Principalele influențe în domeniu sunt Carl Sagan, Eugen Ionescu sau Albert Camus. Pe lângă preocupările literare, Alexandru Zamfir este membru al unor proiecte muzicale locale, intitulate „Decomposing Black", „Flesh Rodeo" și „Mountains On My Back". Este, de asemenea, pasionat de cinematografie și de astronomie, urmărind în permanență misiunile robotice și umane aruncate către Univers de era spațială, cu care este deosebit de recunoscător să fie contemporan.
