Three damaging anti-Asian stereotypes are examined from the perspectives of history, Asian American Studies, Asian American marginal theology, biblical studies, and CST: the perpetual foreigner, the Yellow Peril, and the myth of the model minority. Supplements the discussion of race/racism in Open Wide Our Hearts and Encountering Christ in Harmony and focuses on a central issue that the bishops' documents do not address: reckoning with the invisibility of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the Catholic Church.
