Aircraft noise prediction and control is one of themost urgent and challenging tasks worldwide.A hybrid approach is usually considered forpredicting the aerodynamic noise. The approachseparates the field into aerodynamic sourceand acoustic propagation regions. Conventional CFDsolvers are typically used to evaluate the flow fieldin the source region. The FW-H equation is used toextend the near-field CFD solution to the far-fieldacoustic radiation. However the FW-H method requiresthe data on a "complete control surface", which maybe infeasible to accomplish for most practicalapplications. Motivated by the need for the accurateand efficient far-field prediction techniques, anadvanced computational methodology, AcousticIntensity-Based Method (AIBM), has been developed. This method is computational efficiency and onlyneeds the input data over an "open surface". Ingeneral, the AIBM provides an effective alternativefor the far-field acoustic prediction of practicalaeroacoustic problems.
