".Sex and gender Identities area so important to the actualization of "self".Taylor's work has helped me to better deliver patient care in individuals struggling with self constructs. This work is impelling and emotional. His work will have an impact on the Psychiatric communities which will help shape social perceptions and treatment trends."-Dr. Victor R Barnes MD

"Holder first uses his own experience to gain unprecedented access to a broadercommunity of people whom, using normative understanding of sex, gender andsexual orientation, many of us might identify as 'transsexual,' 'tansgendered','intersexed', or some 'other' in-between and thus socially marginalizing category. Hethen boldly re-maps this social landscape in ways that situate us all somewherein-between. While respecting the differences in our experience, Holder calls from greater continuity in- and at the very least, greater scrutiny toward- ourmeasurement of it"-Dr. John G. Dale, Ph.D.Assistant Professor of SociologyGeorge Mason University

All Points in Between explores sex and gender identities, and argues that an understanding of both sex and gender as a spectrum, rather than binarycategories, would help people to live healthier lives. Mislabeling a person's sex status at birth can cause unreasonable expectations and pain for individuals and family members. Interviews with both "invisible" and "visible" transsexual and biologically ambiguous individuals and their families are analyzed to help readers better understand the intersections of sex and gender identities. The book sheds light on the dilemmas, tensions, and contradictions arising from the social construction of sex and gender. While exposing the weakness of historicalresearch that has established social beliefs and psychological treatment trends, the author offers up new possibilities for thinking about these identities. This workaddresses conflicts within the Transsexual, Transgender and Intersexedcommunities, and speaks to the professional fields of various sciences as well asmainstream society. Envisioning societies potential, All Points in Between paints a hopeful picture for the individual, family and the professionals who work with people facing sex and gender assignment challenges. In 2001 Taylor Holder first publicly spoke on an educational panel, supported by TheHarvey Milk Institute, PFLAG, ISNA, and The Gay and Lesbian Human RightsCommission of San Francisco addressing Intersex issues. You may read his fullbiography at the back of the book.
