Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 1994 im Fachbereich Geschichte - Afrika, Leibniz Akademie Hannover - Verwaltungs- und Wirtschaftsakademie Hannover (Historisches Institut), Veranstaltung: Seminar, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Am 18. Juni 1894 erklärte Großbritannien das Königreich Buganda zum Protektorat und gab ihm den Namen Uganda. In der Folgezeit vergrößerte sich Uganda durch den Anschluss der Königreiche Bunyoro, Toro, Ankole, Lango, Busoga und Teso wesentlich. Bis heute besetzen die Baganda wichtige Posten und Ämter, worin sich die einstige Macht des jahrhundertealten Königreiches in der Zwischenseenregion spiegelt. Die an der Universität Hannover, Historisches Seminar, entstandene Hausarbeit untersucht, wie es zu dem Konflikt zwischen dem Adel und dem König (Kabaka) kam, der letztendlich zur Entstehung des Protektorats führte.
