It begins with the bizarre kidnapping of a childhood friend and progresses to murder. This book is the first of the series of the Splinters and Boomer mysteries. It has it's light parts of a normal family living in a quaint central Ohio village with emerging rock 'n roll, becoming a teenager, and wonderful chrome and tail-finned automobiles. It also has it's darkness, leading these young detectives and their friends and family into terrible danger!
