All das wird nebensächlich, als ein Unbekannter Kanters Freundin in ihrer Wohnung überfällt und schwer verletzt. Während sie mit dem Tod ringt, muss Kanter nicht nur seine Unschuld gegenüber den Behörden beweisen, sondern gerät in eine politische Verschwörung, die mehr als eine Nummer zu groß für ihn ist und ihn in die dunkelsten Kapitel seiner Vergangenheit zurückführt.
