《周易古筮探秘》通过对历代史书和著名典籍中的筮例的仔细揣摩和详细解析，用反向工程的方法破解了中国古代直接用《周易》占筮吉凶的方法--易占古法。这是中国最古老的占筮方法，属于正统的儒家易学。书中选录了历代纯易占筮例五十个（其中包括春秋时代的史书《左传》和《国语》中的十六个筮例，即著名的"春秋筮"），另外还有易占兼用纳甲的筮例八个，及一个清代纯纳甲筮例。全书共有筮例五十九个，全都做了详细解析。
