书房不在外边，在家中。所以，大部分作家一生的时间注定与自己的家人在一起。然而，作家的写作很少与自己个人的生活相关，因为他的心灵面对着家庭外边的大千世界，扎在充满各种烦恼的芸芸众生与挤满问号的社会里。这温暖的书房便是他踏实的靠背，是他向外射击的战壕。因此，对于作家，惟有在书房里才能真实地面对世界和赤裸裸地面对自己。这是安放自己心灵的地方，是自己精神的原点，有自己的定力。
由于作家的书房在自己家里，作家的家就有特殊的意味：生活的一半是情感的，书房的一半是精神的。当然，情感升华了也是一种精神，精神至深处又有一种情感。

作者简介
冯骥才，1942年生于天津，作家、画家、文化学者。作品题材广泛，体裁多样，已出版各种作品集近百种，代表作《神鞭》《三寸金莲》《俗世奇人》等。出版过多种大型画集，并在国内外举办个人画展，以其中西贯通的绘画技巧与含蓄深远的文学意境，被评论界称为"现代文人画的代表"。近年来，他投身于城市历史文化保护和民间文化抢救，倡导与主持中国民间文化遗产抢救工程，并致力推动传统村落保护，对当代中国社会产生了广泛影响。
