本书所集，涵盖作者近三十年来诗词作品，分为新疆诗稿、台湾行吟、京华雪鸿、旧作留踪四个部分。共计诗词约500首。
作为唯一的全国性诗词组织的中华诗词学会,自1987年5月成立以来,就十分重视这项工作。学会每年的学术研讨会和历届"华夏诗词奖",都出版论文集和获奖作品集。纪念学会成立二十年、三十年时,还专门编辑出版了《大事记》《论文选集》《诗词选集》。《中华诗词》 创刊以来,每年都制作年度合订本。2007年5月,在北京天识东方文化艺术传播有限公司的资助下,以近代以来诗词创作、诗词理论、诗词运动重要文献汇编,当代名家个人作品专集等为主要内容,出版了《中华诗词文库》。经过十来年的编辑整理,已经出了近百卷。这些诗集、文集的出版,记录了近百年来尤其是改革开放四十多年来,中华诗词从起步、复苏走向复兴的砥砺前行的历程,为近、当代诗歌史的撰写准备了丰富的资料。
