北大的社教运动是北大文革的预演。不了解北大的社教运动，对北大文革的理解，就只能停留在表面现象上。有幸收集到关于北大社教运动的一些资料。限于篇幅，本书第一辑选用了第二次国际饭店会议期间"北大哲学系党员干部整风会议简报"的一部分及相关人员的揭发材料。本书第二辑是近两年来收集整理的有关北大文革的资料，这些资料是对2020年出版的《北京大学文革资料选编》的补充。文革中，作为聂元梓主要助手的孙蓬一，在1967年4月12日有个重要讲话，讲话的矛头指向了中央文革中王、关等几员大将，给毛的文革造成了麻烦。后来江青说:"聂元梓那个助手不好，出了许多坏点子"。1973年3月1日，聂元梓、孙蓬一被戴上"五一六"反革命分子帽子，开除党籍。1976年，受谢静宜、迟群控制的北大宣传队，派人登门诱迫正在受审查的孙蓬一参加所谓"批邓"，被孙蓬一断然拒绝。1978年4月3日，孙蓬一被北大党委骗回学校再次被关押起来。孙蓬一被逮捕关押后，了解他的一些人表示愿意为他出庭作无罪辩护。本书第三辑收录了与孙蓬一有关的书信。从中可以看出，孙蓬一虽然被逮捕关押了，但他们夫妇对党中央还是非常信任的，对未来仍然充满了希望。
