This is the first history in English (in the original) of the Kingdom of Sicily from its foundation in 1130 until its demise in 1860 when it was integrated into the Kingdom of Italy. With a narrative covering the periods before and after as well as these eventful centuries, it includes a detailed bibliography, timeline and index, along with appendices on such topics as the nobility, along with maps and genealogical tables. This is a defining reference and an interesting read.
