Supplementations In Spirulina Platensis Cultivation

Spirulina platensis was cultivated by inoculated in Zarrouk's medium and Zarrouk's medium with four different supplementation such as Multivitamin tablet, tender coconut water, cow dung and cow urine in four different concentration. The inoculated medium was subjected to physiological conditions by providing aeration and artificial light source. The growth determination was done by Direct Microscopic Count, Optical density and Dry mass. At 20th day of incubation, the Spirulina were harvested and the C-Phycocyanin was extracted by alternative cycles of freezing, thawing and centrifugation. The extracted C-phycocyanin concentration and purity were estimated by spectrophotometer.
