How to define a good "short story"? 

If you ask me, I will say it like this, "A short story should be like a 'piece of mango' when you have "sundal" snack in beachside (synonymous to the idiom 'Cherry on the cake').

"Hmmm. Now think you are in a beach walk, amid sand, sunset and wind. And just got a small bag of 'sundal' to eat, and finally got a small mango piece in it at the end. You chew little longer and enjoy the same. It is a unique pleasure and take you to a different world of trance."
