Transfusion of labile blood products (LBP) is a crucial life-saving medical procedure, but not without risks, including the transmission of pathogens and graft-versus-host disease. Irradiation of PSL is the main means of prevention. Our objective is to describe the aspects linked to this irradiation within the oncological radiotherapy department of Sousse in order to improve current practices. We evaluated PSL irradiation practices in our establishment based on literature data, as well as current regulations in order to identify potential areas for improvement, such as interdepartmental communication, traceability of PSLs. irradiated and their storage.At the end of our study, recommendations are provided to standardize the blood irradiation circuit, thus ensuring safer and more efficient transfusions for patients at the Tunisian center.
