Parents Are Lifesavers

Much of the literature on school reform calls for creating opportunities for parent involvement in new and meaningful ways yet there has been little information on how to accomplish this.

This useful Handbook contains a step-by-step model for parental participation in schools. Carol S Batey has gained national recognition in the United States for her implementation of such programmes. Her book includes sample parent volunteer forms, parent and staff surveys and lists of activities that will allow parents to be involved in the school according to what time and energy they have available.
