Mental Retardation

Psychiatry is reawakening to the need to concern itself with the subtler effects of the medication it employs. The field of mental retardation has been sensitized to this need for quite a few years and has helped lead the search for the most effective and least cognitively impairing regimen. The contributors to this volume, by their attention to furthering our understanding of the treatability of the mental illnesses that retarded citizens so often display, aim to close the door on past restrictive psychopharmacological aproaches.
