A collection mainly of essays, along with a few short stories and poems, selected from the pages of America's classic "The Knickerbocker: A New York Monthly Magazine," published form 1833-1865. This publication, founded with assistance of such noted American authors as Washington Irving, was a dominant pillar of the American literary scene at the time. This first volume features a culinary theme.
