Originally published in 1937 as part of the Yesterday and Today in Germany series for Cambridge Contact Readers, this book contains the German text of an unpublished autobiography describing life in Germany from 1884 until 1931 as a child, student and soldier. The book is illustrated with photographs of life in Germany before and during the First World War, as well as hand-drawn maps, and a number of German poems and songs are included at the end of the text.
