This text began as a course for physical chemistry and chemical physics students specializing in CP/MAS NMR who wanted to understand the underlying principles of the experiments they were using in the laboratory, and is aimed at that kind of audience. Part of the text serves as a reference to specific facts and other parts are more pedagogical. Little time is spent on mathematical rigor, and appendices are provided to fill holes in student backgrounds.
This superb introductory text introduces students to the CP/MAS experiment as it is used to obtain rare-spin, high-resolution NMR spectra. The history of NMR and the instrumentation of the spectrometer and probe are discussed as well.
