For as long as folks could remember, old Leigh Ritchie had danced to the strange voices that ruled her mind, and she made their lives miserable. Most thought she was wicked and hopelessly insane, so no one was surprised when Sheriff Joseph Harmon hauled her off to the insane asylum for murdering her father. Sheriff Harmon knew she was innocent, but when she came up with the outrageous idea to stay five years in the asylum so she could earn forgiveness from her dead sister, he was glad to see her go.
