The Scél Mucci Mic Dathó, or 'Story of Mac Dathó's Pig', is justly regarded as one of the very best Irish Sagas. In spite of its brevity it is of vary varied character, and several different types of prose and poetry are represented in it. It is well adapted therefore to serve as an introduction to the study of Early Irish Literature in the original, and it is for this purpose that this 1927 edition is primarily intended. The notes and vocabulary are designed especially to help those who are learning Early Irish without a teacher.
