Inna Broude-Epshtein's new book, "A Blissful Bit of Luck", is biographical, traditionally beginning with her first childhood impressions, growing with the author's alter ego, and ending with the transition of her life into a new phase-emigration from the USSR to the United States. Chronologically, this is a smaller half of the author's biography, but the reader does not get the feeling that the story is cut short, because for Inna, as for many others, emigration split her life in two. The vividness of perception, the apparent unpretentiousness of the narrative, the simplicity of style, the complete absence of pretentiousness-make a serious story easy and fascinating to read. It leaves a feeling of close acquaintance with the author.
